BRAMS is seeking an Occupational Therapist and a Senior Occupational Therapist based in Broome, WA, on a full-time or part-time basis, to help Aboriginal people and families build independence and participation in daily life.
Reporting to the Allied Health Manager, both roles focus on Aged Care and Disability (NDIS), with support to Primary Health Care, across clinic, home, group and community settings. You'll manage a generalist caseload within the multidisciplinary team, with room to specialise and bring NDIS expertise that strengthens the OT team.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Complete functional, cognitive and environmental assessments
- Deliver therapy, rehabilitation and reablement programs
- Prescribe assistive technology and recommend home modifications
- Educate consumers, families and carers on goals and self-management
- Participate in case coordination, care planning and case conferences
- Maintain accurate clinical records across funding streams
- Supervise allied health assistants, graduate OTs and students
At the Senior level, you will also:
- Provide clinical leadership and advice across multidisciplinary teams
- Develop service delivery models, clinical protocols and quality initiatives
- Coordinate student placements, training and team development
Is This You?
The successful candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. Occupational Therapist applicants will bring at least two years' post-graduate experience, while Senior applicants will bring demonstrated experience at a senior clinical level.
You will also bring:
- Experience across community, primary health, aged care and/or disability (NDIS) settings.
- Evidence-based, person-centred practice with consumers who have complex needs.
- Knowledge of NDIS, Aged Care and Primary Health Care frameworks.
- An understanding of culturally safe practice and the social determinants of health.
- Sound clinical reasoning and strong communication skills.
- Leadership and mentoring capability (Senior level).
